PATHWAYS

Access a games development apprenticeship with Realityjam Studio via one of 3 pathways. Applicants are expected to have a portfolio of published work, either personal projects or work on published games.

Career Intensive

No Experience? No worries. Join our Scion Foundation Career Intensive to level up your skills in game creation and get hands-on experience working on MMO titles while you learn. Gain access to an 'Adeptus' apprenticeship with Realityjam Studios upon successful completion.

Apprenticeship

Already have 1 year or more of commercial experience working on multiplayer titles for PC desktop with an established studio? Join Realityjam as an 'Adeptus' apprentice by taking an entrance examination and completing a test task demonstrating your game design skills.

  • 12 months, fully remote. 2 days training, 3 days work per week
  • Apply for fast-tracked, full time roles with Realityjam upon successful completion

Scholarship

Have a published game on Itch.io or Steam on which you were a lead art or engineering team member? Join our regular 'Rematch' online showcase competitions and apply for a fully funded place in the program via the Scion Foundation Career Intensive.

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN

Program members access opportunities to monetize their work while they learn. Putting educational theory into professional practice as soon as possible grounds learning in industry experience.

Live Streams

Screen-share your work building worlds and creating game assets on our monetized partner Twitch channel, and build your personal brand on the world's no. 1 streaming platform. Streams are simulcast to the 5th Dimension Steam Community Hub.

  • Streamers receive a 50% share of advertising revenue.

Monetized Game Assets

Create and integrate game-ready assets including maps, weapons, skins, and vehicles within our free-to-play MMO games and earn a passive revenue stream for as long as your assets stay in the game.

Steam
  • Access to selling monetized assets inside our games is reserved exclusively for program members.
  • Program members receive a 70% share of asset sales revenue.

A VIRTUAL WORLD LIKE NO OTHER

Create awesome MMOs and build virtual worlds while you refine your game creation skills. Contribute to live multiplayer titles and get credited on AA games even before you graduate.

5th Dimension

You'll be credited as a member of the Realityjam production team for the work you do while you learn, accelerating your career potential by profiling your work on live MMO games.

5th Dimension is a free-to-play, cyberpunk-themed city builder and 3PS MMO. Esports, UGC and competitive PVP gameplay powers a unique in-game economy.

Program members learn the art of game creation by making a meaningful contribution to the game in a professional ‘pipeline’ environment, using industry standard tools like Jira and Confluence.

Set within an epic, sprawling fantasy universe, the virtual world of 5th Dimension is unlimited in scale and empowers players to compete in a story driven battle for world domination.

MULTIPLAYER GAME DESIGN MADE EASY

Realityjam Studio is Realityjam’s native game engine. It offers Industry Access Program participants a Unity compatible runtime, C sharp game creation toolkit and world building interface that they use to create and integrate assets with our games. Designed to mirror Unity workflows, Realityjam Studio flattens the Unity learning curve while maintaining compatibility with Unity plug-ins, scripts and packages.

REALITY JAM EVENTS

Realityjam work culture is based on the idea that having fun is halfway to success. Adepti and Scions work from home, collaborate using Discord and build connections within the movement by attending regular in-game and IRL events and meet ups.

HOW IT WORKS

The Scion Foundation Career Intensive

Begin with our intensive, 6-month Scion Foundation program, created with support from Unity, the world's leading game development platform. The program equips you with professional-grade skills in Unity engine development, 3D content creation, Blender and interactive storytelling. Prepare to begin work as an apprentice with Realityjam Studio.

Activity Focus: 3 days of education and training / 1 day of practical game creation per week.

Course Cost: $13,000 (paid in advance or in regular installments). Earn up to $10,000 revenue share via monetized in-game content created during the course.

The Adeptus Apprenticeship Program

Following Stage 1 access a fast-tracked apprenticeship working on cutting-edge multiplayer games. Graduate with an Apprenticeship Certificate, a Unity Associate Certification, 18 months industry experience on AA multiplayer titles, plus an ongoing revenue stream from monetized in-game content created during the program.

Activity Focus: 2 days of education and training / 3 days of practical game creation per week.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour plus benefits and up to $10,000 revenue share from monetized game assets created during the course.

The Realityjam Game Growth Engine

Following the successful completion of the Adeptus Apprenticeship, graduate to the rank of Magus and collaborate with up to 5 other program graduates to build and launch your own game. Access a venture capital pool to fund game creation and marketing.

Activity Focus: Full time 5 days per week.

Compensation: Grant or venture capital funding per game with offers made case-by-case.

Join Realityjam

Our mission is building world-class games by hiring entry level team members exclusively from our Magi community. Magi are eligible to secure full time paid positions within Realityjam and offers are made on a case by case basis to those who choose not to build and launch their own game via the Growth Engine fund.

Activity Focus: Full time 5 days per week.

Compensation: Offers made on a case by case basis, if your work is outstanding and no jobs are available, we’ll create one for you.

Free Thinkers - Remote work and tight deadlines demand self-management and independent thinking. Those who prefer in-person collaboration with daily colleague contact may find this challenging.


Ambition - Our team brings high-energy passion and determination to achieve their goals daily. If you're not fully committed to your games industry career goals, this mindset may feel exhausting.


Fail Fast - Failure is a key ingredient of success. We seek team members who bounce back from setbacks and pursue outcomes relentlessly. We all deal with fear of failure but to succeed in our organization, you must be able to master it.


Inspiration - You need to be super passionate about working hard to build an awesome games industry career. If this doesn't totally excite you, this isn't the right pathway.

Disclosure

The Adeptus Apprenticeship is delivered and certified by Realityjam. To successfully complete the program, participants must pass an end point examination. The Adeptus Apprenticeship Program is delivered in accordance with the ‘Game Developer’ Apprenticeship Standard as approved by the Department Of Labour. All participants who complete the SFP will be publicly credited as members of the Realityjam game studio team and provided with a written reference to validate the work performed relating to the production of Realityjam games in addition to certification of course completion.

The Adeptus Apprenticeship program is a US Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship (Game Developer - RAPIDS Program No. 2026-CA-140092) leading to a DOL Certificate of Completion on graduation.
